Disc brake alarms clamp through a hole in your disc brake, preventing the electric scooter from being ridden while locked. In addition, it will sound a very loud siren if the lock is moved. The 110dB sound is loud enough to draw serious attention.
Disc brake alarms provide a higher degree of security than a regular bike lock (whether u-shaped, chain, cable or flat style) because they are more difficult to disable (they can’t be cut). For extreme security, use both a good quality primary lock (like the Kryponite Evolution 4 which is our favourite) in addition to a disc brake alarm.
A bright orange reminder cable is hooked around a handlebar to remind you that the lock is attached.
Bright red or blue colours along with an orange reminder cable is a great visual deterrent as well, letting the suspects know that it’s armed and unable to me ridden or pushed. 12 LR44 batteries required (included).
Easy to lock with one-press operation, the lock immediately goes into alarm mode and you’ll hear a short “beep” sound. When it detects vibration, it will sound a warning triple “beep” to let potential thieves know its armed. If it’s triggered again, the alarm gives off a continuous shrill (110dB) alarm for about 30 seconds. To shut off the alarm must either have to unlock it or wait 30 seconds (alarm will stop but it will still be armed).
